The Algerian non-hydrocarbon exports increased during the first six months of the current year 2021 by 95.55% to reach 2.03 billion dollars, compared to 1.04 billion dollars during the same period of 2020, announced the Ministry of Commerce. The Ministry’s report shows that exports of mineral and chemical fertilisers reached 618 million dollars, an increase of 52.4%. Iron and steel exports reached $370 million, compared to $21.59 million in the same period last year, an increase of 1614%. Exports of inorganic chemicals reached $343 million, compared to $114.23 million in the same period last year, an increase of 200%.
Exports of food products were worth $287 million, an increase of 37%. Exports of sugar exports reached $206 million, an increase of 55.5%. The volume of manufactured goods exported increased to 141 million dollars, representing a rate of 7%, according to details provided in the press release of the Ministry of Trade.
