The Algerian Embassy in London commemorated today the 63rd anniversary of Victory Day, which falls on March 19th of each year. On this occasion, the national anthem was played, a minute of silence was observed, and the Fatiha was recited in memory of the martyrs of the liberation revolution.




The Algerian-British Business Council (ABBC) held its annual meeting on 13th November 2024, at the House of Lords in Parliament to celebrate relations between Algeria and the United Kingdom.
The event brought together the Algerian Ambassador, the Embassy officials, and prominent British political and parliamentary figures, including Baroness Symons, former Minister of State for Trade and Foreign Affairs with responsibility for the MENA region and President of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, Mr. John Humphrey, UK Trade Commissioner for Africa, former British Ambassador to Algeria, Martyn Roper; and the newly appointed Ambassador, Mr. James Downer.
As part of its activity program for the second half of 2024, the Embassy, in collaboration with the Algerian-British Business Council (ABBC), organised a forum titled “Tourism and Investment Opportunities in Algeria” on 4th November 2024.
This event aimed to strengthen economic and tourism relations between Algeria and the United Kingdom while attracting British investors to the country’s untapped tourism potential.
The participation of diverse stakeholders in the tourism sector, both Algerian and British, provided an in-depth overview of existing opportunities and challenges to address in promoting sustainable and attractive tourism in Algeria.

The Embassy, in collaboration with the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), organised a roundtable titled “Algeria and Recent Developments: Business Climate and Investment Opportunities” in London on 26th September 2024.
This event was part of efforts to promote the profound economic reforms implemented by the Algerian government to stimulate economic growth and strengthen trade relations between Algeria and the United Kingdom. The primary objective was to highlight the country’s recent reforms and promote key sectors offering investment opportunities.
During the roundtable, several strategic sectors were identified as promising for investors, including agriculture, renewable energy, infrastructure, information and communication technologies (ICT), and tourism.
Seizing the opportunity of the visit by Mr. Yacine El Mahdi Oualid, Minister of the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Microenterprises, to London from 3rd to 5th May 2024, to participate in the 21st Annual MENA Start-ups Conference organised by the London Business School (LBS), the Embassy took the initiative to organise a briefing/discussion on 3rd May, 2024, in collaboration with the Algerian-British Business Council (ABBC). The event, titled “The Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and Prospects,” brought together around 100 Algerian and British participants representing start-ups, the business community, researchers, academics, and British institutions responsible for entrepreneurship and the knowledge economy.

Algeria is hosting the 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum from the 29 of February to the 2nd of March, 2024.
A website dedicated to this Summit has been launched. It offers several tabs and a detailed information area on the event. It also contains an area reserved for the press and media wishing to cover this event.
