During a working visit to Tunisia, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, was received on 23th August by President Kais Saied to whom he handed a letter from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The meeting was a renewed opportunity to review the distinguished relations between Algeria and Tunisia and to welcome the mutual surge of solidarity witnessed recently by both sides. The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune had, on Monday, 23th August, a phone conversation with the President of Tunisia, Kaïs Saïed, during which he reiterated Algeria’s solidarity with Tunisia at this critical stage. Both leaders discussed ways to support Algeria-Tunisia relations in various fields.

The Embassy and the Consulate General organised on the 20th August, with the presence of members of the Algerian community in the United Kingdom, a commemoration ceremony in remembrance of the North Constantine offensive in August 20th, 1955 and the Soummam Congress, in August 20th, 1956. The ceremony was marked by the rising the Algerian Flag, the listening to the national anthem, the reading of the Fatiha.

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune received, on 16th August, a phone call from the King of Saudi Arabia, Salmane Ben Abdelaziz Al-Saoud who offered his sincere condolences to him, to the Algerian people and to the families of the martyrs of the forest fires, assuring him of the solidarity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Algeria in these difficult circumstances.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, had a phone conversation with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Libya, Jan Kubis, on the latest developments in the political process to end the crisis in Libya. On this occasion, Mr. Lamamra reiterated Algeria’s support to the United Nations’ efforts as well as its readiness to accompany the national reconciliation process in Libya in coordination with the African Union.   

The President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received, on 19th July, China’s State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, who was leading a large delegation. This visit was an opportunity to discuss ways to deepen the political consultations between the two countries and to assess the implementation of the Global Strategic Partnership Agreement binding the two countries in order to boost their bilateral cooperation, particularly the economic partnership in the fields of infrastructure and investment.

On the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra extended his best wishes to the Algerian community abroad and invited each and everyone to continue working and to remain united in the service of Algeria.
