On the occasion of the 60th National Immigration Day, the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune decreed the observance of one minute of silence every year across the entire country, every 17 October at 11 AM, in remembrance of the martyrs of the massacres of 17 October 1961 in Paris.

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune had, on Tuesday, 12th October, a phone conversation with the President of Tunisia, Kaïs Saïed, during which he expressed his congratulations for the formation of the new government, wishing him and his government the best of success. The Algerian Authorities have announced a new flight program with 14 additional Air Algérie international flights from and to Algeria. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra started a working visit to Rome at the invitation of his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio, to participate in the 3rd Italy-Africa ministerial Conference which takes place on 8th October 2021. On this occasion, Mr. Lamamra reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment towards the African continent to achieve an energy transition that guarantees its development and preserves its right to benefit from its resources, highlighting Algeria’s ambitious plan to achieve “green growth”.
Algeria participates at the Exhibition “Expo 2020 Dubai” which opened on 1st October, in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), through its pavilion, with a Casbah inspired architecture, bearing the theme Rihla (Voyage of Life) to highlight Algeria’s civilization and its future aspirations. Algeria has been ranked by United Nations World Food Program (WFP), first in Africa in terms of food security. It is ranked in the category of countries whose rate of undernourished people is less than 2.5% of the total population, during the period 2018-2020.
