Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, received on 4th of March a phone call from his British counterpart, Lord David Cameron, as part of the regular consultations between Algeria and the United Kingdom on the bilateral relations as well as the international issues of common interest, especially the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The two sides commended the level of dialogue and political consultation between the two countries, particularly the coordination between their permanent missions to the Security Council on the situation in Palestine, and agreed to keep up the efforts to secure an immediate ceasefire and address the humanitarian situation in Gaza by facilitating the delivery of aid to its populations.
The two ministers further discussed the endeavors for Palestine’s admission to the United Nations (UN) as a concrete step towards establishing a two-state solution in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.
Attaf reiterated his invitation to his British counterpart to pay an official visit to Algeria so as to deepen consultations and broaden the areas of bilateral cooperation and partnership between the two countries.
