The CEO of Sonelgaz, Mr. Chaher Boulakhras declared, on Monday 21 June, that Sonelgaz Group, Algerian company in charge of distributing gas and electricity in the country, is able to penetrate the African markets, stating that the Group achieves a surplus of production of electricity outside periods of peak consumption.
He added that the African continent needs, more than ever, electric energy which is the economic and social engine, noting that, as part of Sonelgaz’s new strategy of openness to the rest of the world, including Africa, his company signed deals with several African countries to provide them with electricity.
