A video conference entitled: “ALGERIA EDUCATION- THE DRIVE TO ENGLISH UNIVERSITIES” was organised on 16th March 2021 by the Algerian-British Business Council, the Algerian Embassy in London and the British Embassy in Algiers.
Among the participants at this conference were: Lord Richard Risby, the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Algeria, Mr. Abderrahamne Benguerrah, Ambassador of Algeria to the UK, Ms. Sharon Wardle, British Ambassador to Algeria, Lady Olga Maitland, Chairman of the Algerian-British Business Council and representatives of the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and British Universities and schools in the UK and Algeria.
The participants addressed the bilateral relations in the field of education and training as well as the prospects to reinforce the teaching of English in Algeria. They also welcomed the Algerian Government’s efforts in promoting the use of the English language, particularly in higher education.
