Prospects to strengthen the economic partnership between Algeria and the United Kingdom were at the heart of a forum, organized Thursday in London, at the initiative of the Algerian embassy in collaboration with the British firm “Developing Markets Associates” (DMA).
Organized under the slogan “Algeria open for business,” this meeting which aims to stimulate commercial exchanges, boost investments and bilateral cooperation, saw a record participation of nearly 200 leaders of groups from different fields and specialties and economic operators specialized in industry who came from Algeria or are based in the United Kingdom as well as the new president of the Algerian-British Business Council, the former ambassador, Martyn Roper.
The forum provided an ideal opportunity to address questions and concerns from British investors, managers, and business leaders, as well as Algerians based in the UK who are involved in business, regarding Algeria’s ongoing economic transformation.
The great partnership opportunities that the Algerian market offers, notably in the priority sectors that drive its economic growth, namely: agriculture and agro-industry, tourism, industry and pharmaceutical production, new and renewable energies, fishing and fishery products as well as mining exploitation, were presented.
Participants also discussed the various economic reforms implemented in recent years, including the investment law and its positive impact on Algeria’s business climate.
