M. Ramtane Lamamra, Ministre of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, was received, on 28 July 2021, by the President of the Republic of Ethiopia, Sahle-Work Zewde, to whom he conveyed the fraternal greetings of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune On this occasion several issues were discussed such as the strategic relations between Algeria and Ethiopia, the peace and security in Africa and the prospects for strengthening the Arab-African partnership.

In line with the new instructions of the President of the Republic of Algeria with regards to the measures applicable to persons entering the national territory on board of regular commercial flights, it has been decided to lift the mandatory confinement of 05 days. Sonatrach rejected the allegations of expropriation made by Petroceltic International PLCand indicated that it decided, on 12th April 2021,  to terminate the contract concluded, on 26th September 2004, with this company for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in Isarène perimeter (blocks 228 and 229a) according to the Law n°86-14 of 19th August 1986, as further amended and supplemented, relating to the activities of prospecting, research, exploitation and transportation by pipeline of hydrocarbons.
