The Ambassador of Algeria to the United Kingdom and Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), H.E Yazid Noureddine, participated in the 33rd Ordinary Session of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), held in London from 27th November to 6th December 2023. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ahmed Attaf, met with British Minister of State, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, in London as part of the second round of the Strategic Dialogue. The two sides issued a joint statement at the conclusion of the session and signed memoranda of understanding on port facility security, economic relations and investment, and an annual work plan.

As part of his working visit to London, the Minister met at the Algerian Embassy in London with representatives of the Algerian community in the United Kingdom. The Minister announced the commencement of preparations for the new headquarters of the Algerian Cultural Centre in London, after the authorities gave the green light for this project.

On the occasion of the celebration of Knowledge Day – Youm El-Ilm, the Embassy of Algeria organised on the 16th of April, a panel discussion on the role of Algerian university community and competences established in the UK in the development of Algeria.
