Partial reopening of Algerian air borders: implementation measures

The Algerian Authorities has set out, on 25th May, measures to partially reopen  air borders starting from June 1st. Sonatrach and Equinor sign memorandum of understanding on exploration and production in Algeria

Sonatrach signed on 17th May a Memorandum of Understanding with the Norwegian oil and gas company Equinor to strengthen the existing partnership in oil exploration and production in Algeria and beyond. The new deal also includes a partnership on new technologies and environmental protection in current and new projects, particularly emissions reduction and carbon capture, improvement of recovery figures and development of a flexible operating model.

In his address to the United Nations General Assembly Meeting on the Situation in Palestine on 20 th May, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, called on the UN Secretary General to declare a state of humanitarian emergency in the occupied territories of Palestine to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians and reconstruct Gaza.

Algeria’s air borders will partially reopen from June 1st

The Algerian Authorities decided on 16  May to re-open partially air borders starting from 1st June with five flights operating daily from and to the airports of Algiers, Constantine and Oran.  The five-flight programme will be adopted under strict anti-Covid-19 preventive measures. The Embassy will inform in due time the Algerian community on the conditions of traveling from the UK to Algeria.
